NETWORKING
Computer network is a connection of many computers and other devices in a single group. In network two or more small networks can be connected together and makes big network. It is used to share data and devices to all users. It allows users to share files, folders, data or any other information from one system to other who is not near you or at same place. With the help of network we can use common device like printer, scanner etc. by all users.
NETWORK TOPOLOGY
Network Topology is a type or structure of connection of computers in network in any organization. It may be of following types.
- Point to Point
- Bus
- Star
- Ring
- Mesh
- Hybrid

In Point to point topology one device is connected with second device in single line. it is very easy to install and not costly.
In Bus topology all the systems or devices are connected with the main network line. In this all the data transmitted through main cable. It is easy to install and when main cable faulty network of all devices will stopped.
In Star topology all the system or devices are connected with central node looks like a star so called star topology. In this all the data transmitted through central node only. It is easy to install and if one system networks fail other system network will work without any problem but if central node faulty the whole network will fail.
In Ring topology all the system and devices are connected to two other devices one in left, second in right and makes a ring like structure. It is easy to install but if one system network fail all the system network down.
In Mesh topology all the system are connected to each other. It is not easy to install. All the systems are connected to each other so their is many ways to transmit data from one system to other. If one system fails then network of other system will work properly.
In Hybrid topology two or more topology are connected together in combination like star and ring topology can be connected together. It is difficult to install and if any fault occurs then can't find easily.
TYPES OF NETWORK
Network can be classified into following category:
- LAN
- MAN
- WAN
LAN (Local Area Network) is network which is used in a single office in a building. In a office all the devices using by all employees are connected in a network. In this network who is not authorized or not in this office can not use this network.
MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) is a network which is used to connect one building to other building in a state or city. In this network all the authorized person of both office can access this network.
WAN (Wide Are Network) is a network which is used to connect offices/building of one state to another state or one countries to other. It is used to connect large geographical area.
