History of Computer
To know the Computers it is important to know the History of computers which is very old. For calculation and mathematics problem different types of devices were using from many years ago. Like sticks, stones and bones were using for counting in earlier times.
Charles Babbage invented a Analytical Engine in 1832. It was the general purpose automatic mechanical digital computer able to perform any calculation and made up of punched cards and it was programmable.
Abacus
Abacus was invented around 600 BC. It is used for counting and made up of wooden racks with metal rods with beads.
Napier's Bone
Napier's Bone was invented by John Napiers in 1617. It is used for multiplication and division operations and made up of a different Bones or strips with numbers.
Pascaline
Pascaline was invented by Blaise pascal in 1642. It is used for addition and subtraction and made of series of interlocking logs and wheels.
Leibniz Machine
Leibniz Machine was invented by Van Leibniz in 1673. It is used for multiplication division and square roots works and made up of cylinder of stepped teeth.
Jacquard Loom
Jacquard Loom was invented by Joseph Mari Jacquard in 1801. It is used for processing with mechanical calculating machine and made up of wooden punch cards.
Analytical Engine
Analytical Engine was invented by Charles Babbage in 1832. It was the general purpose automatic mechanical digital computer able to perform any calculation and made up of punched cards and it was programmable and having memory to store data.
Difference Engine
Difference Engine was invented by Charles Babbage in early 1820. It was a mechanical computer for basic computations. It was a steam-powered calculating machine used to solve numerical tables such as logarithmic tables.
Mark-1
In 1930 Howard Aiken make first electronic computer Mark-1. It was about 15 meters long. The wires used to connecting in various parts of the machine were about 800 kilometers. The first electronic computer built in the early years of 20th century.
